Established in 1961 by Breeder, Exhibitor and Founder Margery Shriver, there is no doubt that Sheffield Pugs had a dramatic impact on fixing Breed Type throughout the USA and possibly throughout the world. As you explore the Sheffield Pugs of the past you will be taken down a historic road that leads full circle to the present day Sheffield Pug. Starting with a vision and then becoming a lifelong Journey, its founder set forth to create a bloodline that yeilds one of the finest phenotypic examples of the race for the world to awe and embrace.
Sheffield Pug bloodlines can be seen in the top kennels in both the USA and other countries around the world. These foundation Sires and Dams have enabled those kennels to surpass their breeding goals and set new standards in their breeding and exhibition stock.
Sheffield Bloodlines now surpass 15 generations of American and International Champions. Sheffield Studs produce consistent excellence in both Phenotype and Soundness. The Stud teams of both past and present hold many records as champion and Grand-champion Producers. Champion Sheffield's Stuff'n Nonsense is one example of a stud dog that is tied for holding the record of producing the most AKC Champion offspring Pugs.
The Sheffield Pug Legacy has been further strengthened by the addition of Robert Gravel and Karen Marenco. After being mentored for over 10 years by Margery Shriver and becoming great friends, Robert & Karen were asked to join Sheffield Pugs in 2006 and help continue the effort to preserve and perfect the Sheffield Bloodlines. Over the years Robert & Karen have owned and bred several Champion Pugs sired by Sheffield Dogs and are proud to accept this fiduciary responsibility and eager to work along side Margery Shriver and help aid in the future development of the race.

Through our current frozen semen breeding efforts we have recreated offspring from three of out past Champion Reproducers and have them available for stud.
